Return to Kingdon II - Kingdon Airport May 19th 2007
Several CG Members rendezvoused at Starbuck's early Saturday morning in
Lodi. This would be the jump off point for our short cruise over
to Kingdon Airfield in Lodi. The short drive took us through Lodi
and out to some back roads to the airfield used mainly for crop dusters.
In the past however, it was used quite extensively as a weekend drag
strip for Stockton/Lodi locals to race their street machines.
Probably the coolest part of the day for me (Firestone) was when 2 P51
Mustangs flew right over us at a very low altitude. Special thanks
to John Q for doing the research on the event and Fred Lizardo for
snapping the pics!

Lined ups left to right are Fred Lizardo's 69, Ed Ernst 67, Dave
Duncan's 68, Firestone's Pace Car and Don Edlund's big block 67.

KC's 2001 SS next to Chip's 68 street machine!

Here we are doing our best to block out John Q's 68 big block Camaro...

John Q "Smokes" a Mustang, and he does it on bias ply skinny redline
14X6 tires!

CG'ers shootin' the breeze (and it was very breezy and dusty!)

Don Edlund in the far lane lines up against John Quinones in the near
lane for the classic 67 vs. 68 big block vs. big block showdown....

Congratulation to KC for picking up a best in class award for his 2001
Black SS.
